Exterity’s core business is the delivery of video content over IP. Its solutions enable the delivery of content from any source to any connected device, across existing networks. It focuses on providing devices that centralise management, configuration and control of video content for its clients. The company offers solutions in a wide range of industry sectors, from corporate, finance and education to hospitality, stadia and healthcare.

Exterity has been active in South Africa for around 10 years, using its presence here as to grow into the regional market. To that end they have partnered with Multichoice as an anchor client, providing them with video over IP solutions in local markets.

The expansion of the business locally has come with the maturing of video over IP technology generally, which has enabled Exterity to introduce new focus areas in the local market. To this end a highlight of its recent technology showcase was the introduction of the digital signage and IPTV solution, ArtioSign. The system, says sub Saharan Africa sales manager Gary Davies, is intended to seamlessly integrate with existing IP video systems: “The ubiquity of digital signage solutions and applications mean that it made sense for us to come up with a signage application that was a natural enhancement to an existing IP video system, so that signage content can be easily created and distributed across existing networks. The ArtioSign system offers an easy way to deliver to multiple displays to enhance employee, guest or visitor experiences. It is a drag-and-drop, feature rich, fully configurable digital signage application and IP video system in one.”

The product is now available in the local market, and was well received by the dealer network present at the showcase.
