Exterity hosts South Africa technology showcase to demonstrate IP video innovations

Exterity, the leading provider of IP video and digital signage technologies, today announced that it will host the Exterity South Africa Technology Showcase dedicated to IP video solutions on Thursday 6th October in Montecasino, Johannesburg.

Designed for channel partners, resellers and end users, and with a keynote presentation by Exterity CEO, Colin Farquhar, the Technology Showcase will present the latest technology innovations in the hospitality and corporate & finance sectors. Exterity will demonstrate the latest additions to its product portfolio, including:

• ArtioSign® – Exterity’s integrated digital signage and IP video solution
• ArtioPortal® – the powerful middleware platform, which provides functionality for creating a tailored viewing interface for TV, Video on Demand and interactive services across a broad range of devices, including SmartTVs, smartphones and tablets
• Mobile video compatibility – how to support a growing BYOD culture with the ability to extend the reach of IP video to mobiles and tablets
• SmartTV integration – additional support for leading providers of SmartTVs, including Samsung, who will also present during the Technology Showcase.


In addition, Multichoice, South Africa’s leading video entertainment and internet company, will present the latest regulations for digital re-distribution and the imminent launch of their first website for the commercial world.

In recent years, Exterity has actively strengthened its presence in the Sub-Saharan region to cater to the evolving IP video market by opening a local office in Johannesburg in order to provide specialised support for regional customers and partners – including distributor SpaceTV and channel partners Omega Digital, Dimension Data, Global Access, Panavision and Conian. The registration only Exterity South Africa Showcase will take place from 12:30 to 17:00 on Thursday 6th October in Johannesburg.

Exterity will also be attending the ‘’IBC Survivors Breakfast’’ hosted by the Southern African Communications Industries Association on Tuesday 4th October at Blandford Manor in Northriding where Colin Farquhar will deliver the keynote, addressing how the international trends and technologies shaping the future of the broadcast industry are playing out in the South African market.
